Checkered Pouch

I originally made this pouch to donate to my Japanese dance class to sell at the O-bon festival...but, one of the dancers liked it so much, that she purchased it there and then :] She told me that it would be perfect for when she is doing tea ceremony - to hold utensils and papers. I was rather happy to hear it go to such noble use!

The technique for this one was a lot of fun - I had to create a bunch of fabric strips and weave them together, to get the top panel. I have another one in blues half made - I just need to get off my butt and finish it! :]
